Senior Product & Experience Design Leader · AI-native workflows
Thanks for taking a look. This is the short version: a little about me, what I do well, and what I'm looking for next. If anything here resonates, I'd love to chat.

About me
I'm a senior product manager and experience design leader based in Charlotte, NC, working at the intersection of AI, enterprise workflows, and operational tooling. About 15 years in — most recently leading AI-enabled product systems at Lowe's and Insuraviews.
I'm also writing a book for O'Reilly called AI for UX, out in 2026. I teach a workshop on Maven, and I write a Substack called Design Hustle when I have something worth saying.
My sweet spot is the messy middle — high ambiguity, complicated org charts, real models in production, and a rollout that has to land inside a live business without breaking it. I'm the person you bring in when the initiative is high-stakes, the systems are fragmented, and the stakeholders aren't aligned. I connect the dots and ship.
What I'm good at
- Translating organizational ambiguity into scalable product systems.
- Operationalizing AI with governance, trust, and human-in-the-loop where it matters.
- Designing agentic experiences — confidence scoring, evidence attribution, explainability, and review loops.
- Working fluently with executives, engineers, designers, and operators in the same room.
- Prototyping fast with modern AI tooling instead of waiting for someone else to.
A few things I've shipped
I helped build Lowe's agentic guided-selling system — before most teams knew what "agentic" meant.
- AI-assisted estimation at Lowe's. Product and design lead for AI-assisted estimation and quoting workflows projected to drive $300M+ in business impact. OCR + LLM processing, confidence scoring, human-in-the-loop review, and trust models for enterprise AI — not pretty screens on a chatbot.
- Regulatory Intelligence platform at Insuraviews. Fractional design lead for an AI-powered regulatory intelligence platform. Designed the evidence attribution, auditability, and explainability patterns that make analysts actually trust the system.
- Quinn. A small AI mental-health infrastructure I designed and built in an afternoon, as a proof of the rapid-orchestration model I teach.
- AI for UX (O'Reilly, 2026). A working manual for designers integrating AI into daily craft without losing rigor or taste.

What I'm looking for
A player/coach role where I'm doing real product and design work while leading a team — not just managing up and out. Scope, cross-functional ownership, and a team building something real with AI at the core.
- Role
- Player/coach. Senior IC or design/product leadership with hands-on scope.
- Stage
- Series B through public, or an AI-native scale-up with real users.
- Domain
- AI platforms, enterprise SaaS, fintech, insurance, logistics, or regulated industries. Throw in a good mission statement and I'll def look twice.
- Scope
- Owning a product system, an AI surface, or a design org — not a single feature.
- Mode
- Remote-first on EST strongly preferred. Open to hybrid in Charlotte or NYC. Happy to travel.
- Comp floor
- $225k+, commensurate with scope and equity.
- Availability
- Active. Moving quickly.
- Not for me
- Pixel-pushing roles, agency rebrands, or AI-window-dressing on legacy UX.
